With Synergy, Linking Industries SS2024 Shanghai Fashion Week Enters A New Journey

On 25th September 2023, the press conference of SS2024 Shanghai Fashion Week was held, announcing that the theme of this season is "Synergy", which means dynamic links - links between the past and the future, links at home and abroad, links inside and outside the industry, links between fashion and technology, ecology and culture ... Since the opening of the event on October 8, nearly 100 brand shows will continue to be staged, with more than 1,000 brands ordering from all over downtown Shanghai, and themed events focusing on sustainability, women's power, and cultural inheritance will be held at the same time. Shanghai Fashion Week has reopened its arms to international buyers and media, and will also welcome the participation of many international companies and organizations.

On the evening of 8th October, the opening show will be presented by Chinese fashion brand ICICLE. On the closing day, 16th October, Stella McCartney, an influential overseas brand in the international fashion industry, will bring her new works to the Asia-Pacific premiere; DONOTTAG, a brand managed by Tony Han, will also make a grand release. Ten years have passed since HAIZHEN WANG's first show at Shanghai Fashion Week; COMME MOI is celebrating its 10th year of existence; and trend icon Edison Chen's brand CLOT will be launching for the first time at Shanghai Fashion Week. In addition, veteran designer labels of Shanghai Fashion Week: PRIVATE POLICY, STAFFONLY, JUDYHUA, TUYUE, HEMU, Shie Lyu, RICO LEE, XUZHI, SHUSHU/TONG, WMWM, NAN KNITS, OUDE WAAG, YIRANTIAN and many more will unveil their latest collections during 9th- 15th.

 

In the main venue of XINTIANDI, wave-shaped art installations will undulate, creating a dynamic and vital launch atmosphere with modern design, while LABELHOOD will present its latest collection at the Bund Source in Huangpu District, interpreting contemporary Chinese fashion under the title of Kunlun. SIFS will debut at the 31 Bund Performing Arts Centre with the theme of "Boundless Peer", focusing on international brands, haute couture and bridal gowns.

 

Shanghai Fashion Week will bring back the newly upgraded consumer-facing project: Fashion Carnival section, featuring Shanghai Fashion Weekend that reaches out to the general public, presenting them with enjoy fashionable lifestyle activities at fashionable landmarks, such as eco-workshops, skateboarding classes, wearable salons, art exhibitions, live music performances, and more.

 

By actively utilizing cutting-edge technology and social media, Shanghai Fashion Week has created a new type of digital show, and will continue to work with Tik Tok to bring a daily long-lasting uninterrupted live broadcast, linking online and offline, with fashion professionals coming to the live broadcast room to bring the first time a unique perspective on the fashion week observation. The official website of Shanghai Fashion Week will once again open the Metaverse showroom to the public, using virtual reality technology to interact with the audience. For the first time, Shanghai Fashion Week cooperates with JOOR, the world's leading online ordering platform, to select nearly ten Chinese independent designer brands through a digitally-driven mechanism and provide them with efficient and intelligent trade promotion services.

 

As for the offline, large-scale trade fairs - represented by MODE, gathering DFO, HCH, TUDOO, XIN TOKYO, WAVE SHOWROOM, ALTER, DADASHOW, SHOWROOM SHANGHAI, not SHOWROOM, ONTIMESHOW, TUBE, LAB and other exhibitions and SHOWROOM - also demonstrated the prosperity of "Asia's largest ordering season".

 

In addition, Shanghai Fashion Week actively gathered voices on issues such as green practices in the industry and social welfare. In the field of sustainability, international luxury goods giant Kering Group will hold the third KERING GENERATION AWARD CEREMONY; yehyehyeh Innovation Society, which has been deeply engaged in the field for many years, will hold the new edition of "SHAN FUTURE FORUM" to discuss the topic of "Fashion Rewilding"; Harrods will present THE HARRODS HIVE again. Harrods will present the program which focuses on sustainable materials, sustainable product design and sustainable retail innovation, and hosts a mentoring session to help young talent exchange and development; WWD China will host the "2023 GLOBAL FASHION INDUSTRY ESG LEADERSHIP SUMMIT " to explore ESG practices and business sustainability, and drive the industry into a new stage of sustainable development. The opening ceremony of "THE FUTURE OF FASHION" INNOVATIVE MATERIAL EXHIBITION, PRESENTED BY STELLA MCCARTNEY, will also be held during the fashion week, and brand founder Stella McCartney will be present to communicate with Chinese designers.

 

Focusing on the topic of women's power, the 4th season of "Shine Her Light: She Power Fashion Forum" once again gathers female guests in the fields of fashion, art and culture, invites supermodels of different eras to have dialogues on the same stage, and "craftsmen" in different fields to convey their craftsmanship, telling the "shimmering" moments in the process of entrepreneurship, transformation, self-growth and cultural inheritance.
